A Christmas Flower – The First Christmas Decoration
As soon as Halloween is over we begin thinking about the holiday season. The stores offer all the beautiful decorations and our minds start to focus on our home, our friends and relatives, and long-loved traditions and all that Christmas means. As we embrace those thoughts we naturally ponder our own decorations, gift-giving, and traditions.
In the US Thanksgiving is celebrated in November, and for many Americans that marks the beginning of the Christmas season. It is not unusual for a Thanksgiving Day dinner guest to bring a gift for the host/hostess and very often this is a gorgeous Christmas Flower. This flower is in many cases, the first Christmas decoration to be placed on display in the home each year.
But after the Thanksgiving dinner all plugs are pulled and every Christmas artifact owned is soon on exhibit for everyone to enjoy. A Christmas tree is trimmed out in a way that is special to the family that works so hard to insure that it looks just right. Twinkling lights and icicles hang from every branch and treasured ornaments are scattered throughout.
Garland is draped around the staircase handrail and over the mantle where the cherished Christmas stockings hang. Christmas Flowers adorn the table tops, mantle, and fireplace.
Long-loved traditions include Christmas craft projects that the whole family can enjoy. This may include making adorable snowmen from Styrofoam balls or creating a kissing ball made of miniature pine cones and mistletoe. Many families of small children spend an afternoon writing letters to Santa Claus.
Of course delicious food is necessarily a part of each of these activities – but the problem can become finding the time to prepare the food. There are ways to get around the issue though, for example, one could stop by the corner grocery store and purchase some potato chips, nuts, a cake, or cookies. Though the food may not be delectable it would certainly provide something to offer the hardworking design team and crafters.
But an easier and better way to provide the provisions is a bountiful Christmas Gift Basket. This simplifies things because the gift basket can be ordered online and it can be conveniently delivered just when it is needed. Christmas Gift Baskets come in a wide variety and each type of basket is available in more than one size – which allows you to customize the food bounty to the amount needed.
Gift baskets can also eliminate the headaches associated with shopping for others. Simply choose a basket that fits the personality and taste of your friends and relatives, order, and like the snap of your fingers – another problem solved!
As you plan your holiday season remember to look for ways to minimize the fuss and worry so you can focus on the important things – like friends and family. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas!
